I took my M3 (2011) to my mechanic and he said it was the Mass air flow sensor and that he could replace it but it wouldn't guarantee the fix. It comes and goes but when driving it feels just fine. Also had my Engine Light come on a bunch of times in the last couple of months. Anyone faced this issue with their 3's or 5's ?Reviving this Thread 1 year later. I have a Ma(2.3L same engine as the 3, all stock). I read the codes for the CEL and it turns out to be P0101 which is a MAF sensor circuit range/performance problem. The CEL going on on cold winter days (specially after parking the car outside on a cold night).

Sorry to revive an old thread but this is so ironic. If I do need a new sensor, I want to confirm if paying this money is a must do. I asked the price for replacing the flow sensor, it costed! Original OEM will be above 200, or Denzo brand for about 180. We got some days a little bit warmer, the light will also have a chance to turn off by itself.Īny idea about it? Thanks so much for your input in advance!! But after I park the car for enough long time to get the car cold down completely, the light will turn on. after clear the code with the scanner, if I keep using the car, the CEL will not turn on again. And a warmer temperature will do good to it. I did use a short ram intake before but changed back to the stock box with a KnN filter only for a long time.Īnd the on-n-off CEL, I found something insteresting, looks the cold temperatures under the hood will turns it on. I had it scanned and found only one code (I forgot.), and it's about the air intake master flow sensor. Then it just on and off from time to time for about one week or 2 already. Recently I got me CEL again, after I parked my car outside for one night.
